Dining: The Philosophy of Three Principles

It's often the safest and, indeed, the best approach to eating and drinking. The philosophy is hardly unique to Japan, but the Japanese have a term that neatly and concisely articulates it: 三土料理. The approach arguably produces the most stylish of foods and drinks because it doesn't try too hard (a fatal sin when it comes to style) and is utterly honest.
